Agosto / August

Julio cierra con 2 medallas de plata para México en clavado sincronizado femenil. ¡Felicidades a Paola Espinoza y Alejandra Orozco!

Empieza el mes de agosto, el octavo del año, pleno verano y hoy justo 1 de agosto, día de la celebración de la independencia de Suiza (todos los días se aprende algo nuevo, ¿no?).

Promete mucho. Y es así porque para empezar, me siento mucho mejor (física y anímicamente). Estoy renovada, restaurada, cargada de energía y de ánimo, con la salud en un mejor estado y con varias cosas en proceso que ansío ver ya terminadas (sí, de esas veces que algo te ilusiona muchísimo y quisieras adelantar el tiempo para echar un vistazo, simplemente para suspirar de alivio y saber que todo salió bien).

Es un mes sin bodas, pero sí cumpleaños (el mío, por ejemplo). Un mes sin clases (para los hijos de mis amigas, por ejemplo) pero sí con ferias, festivales (el del Folclor Internacional en Zacatecas) conciertos y reuniones, con calor, lluvia y posibilidades de terminar algún proyecto o lanzarse por uno nuevo.

Es justo ese mes del año donde aún hay suficiente tiempo para sentir que quedan cosas por hacer y se pueden hacer.

Mis amigos europeos están, en su mayoría, de vacaciones. Fotos de Sicilia, Mikonos, Ibiza, Santander, Londres, Andalucía llenan las noticias del Facebook. Y yo, urgida por terminar temas burocráticos para lanzarme nuevamente a las andadas.

Espero en algún agosto de mi vida hacer un viaje en carretera de costa a costa en Estados Unidos, de Nueva York a Los Ángeles. Esta idea irá directo a mi lista de "Cosas por hacer" en la vida.

Y con un horizonte al frente, cierro con esta frase que me encanta: "Hoy es lo más viejo que has sido. Y lo más joven que siempre serás."

August begins, the eighth of the year, summer and today August 1st, the day of the celebration of the Independence of Switzerland (every day you learn something new, right?).

A month very promising. I feel much better (physically and emotionally). I am renewed, restored, full of energy and mood, with better health status and various things in process that I'm wishing to see finished (yes, those times when something excites you so much and want to advance the time to take a look just to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that everything went well).

A month without weddings, but birthdays (mine, for example). A month without classes (for children of my friends, for example) but with fairs, festivals (the International Folklore in Zacatecas) concerts and meetings, with heat, rain and chance of finishing a project or launch a new one.

It is just this month of the year where there is still enough time to feel that still remains somethings to be done and can be done.

My European friends are, mostly, on vacation. Photos of Sicily, Mykonos, Ibiza, Santander, London, Andalusia fill the news of my Facebook. And I'm urged to end bureaucratic issues to make some nice trip again.

I hope some August of my life to do a road trip from coast to coast in the USA, from New York to Los Angeles. This idea goes directly to my "Things to do" list.

And with a horizon in front, I close with this phrase that I love: "Today is the oldest you've been. And the youngest you'll ever be."
